I'm on the email list for USSBA/YEA so every week or so I get an email with updates about their season, upcoming contests and educational extras. My band competes in the USSBA circuit which is why I originally signed up. But this summer I'm finding that I'm really enjoying some of the "extras" they are sending including the webinar last week and a behind-the scenes video this week. While the video is reporting specific insight into the Cadet's show this season - there's so much more there that I can relate to as a colorguard educator.

May is here and I can say I am ready for this long-awaited break! I love coaching and this was a successful season for my team but I need a break…and I am sure there are many others out there feeling the same way!

Dance Spirit Magazine - Check out this great resource

Years ago I subscribed to Dance Spirit Magazine but let my subscription lapse for some reason, though I can’t remember why. Just this week I posted a question on the Color Guard Planet message boards about finding information for a reader on the physical demands of colorguard compared to that of athletics. One message board reader responded with a reference to an article in Dance Spirit Magazine so I headed over to their website to check it out!
