USSBA released a couple news articles through their site that may be of interest to our community. First, an interview with their Colorguard Education Director, Beverly Brahan describing their approach to scoring and education with links to their new scoresheets which are now available online. See "USSBA Unveils Colorguard Scoring System" by Sean King, posted on the USSBA site Friday, January 29, 2010. The second article comes from the webpage of The Cadets. "Music Majors: Two Day Clinic Focuses on Marching Band" posted January 20, 2010. In this article they talk about a clinic to be held in May 2010 which will focus on what band directors need to know about various aspects of marching band/drum corps, including topics on what band directors need to know about color guard. They also provide links to short educational video clips related to the upcoming clinics. The clinic will be held at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, PA.
